1. 7134 Brooks Lane, Action, Late at Night

[Ako had enough. The large bed was too cold and she was shivering almost uncontrollably since the cold had settled in. Bundled up in a housecoat wasn't enough for her, even despite the size. It was time to suck up the dignity and do something she hadn't done since she was at least six.

Marching over towards the master bedroom and hoping to god that Marvelous and Ambrosia hadn't done anything else for heat -- hey she listened to Kanade's girlish fantasies before -- she pushed the door open and hopped up onto their bed, sleeping or not. And without preamble, dug herself into the sheets from the bottom up to worm beside her parents.

Dignity intact. Kind of. Unless they shove her out or something.]

2. Out in town earlier that morning

[Ako's in town, having bundled up incredibly in mittens, and a jacket and everything else. She was looking for some kind of supplies, candles, blankets, anything. But the stores were so incredibly bare of essentials.]

Seriously this is getting ridiculous. I get here and it's like a freezer. Worse than anything Kanon Town had gotten before.

[And this was from a girl who, close to winter, wore her usual outfit of suspender shorts and a long sleeved shirt. Reaching for a blanket that was very very high up, she wished for her boots. At least then, she could have reached it.]

3. Phone

Okay, I have to ask. Is this normal? Really? I don't think shutting down the power when it get this cold is anything but normal.

[She picks up the axe and points toward the back of the store.]

The canned foods and cereals are over there. Did you bring enough money to pay?

I took all the money I could from the jar.

[She holds up her drone husband's wallet.]

Got it from my drone husband. If I run out, there's always the drone kids' piggy banks.

[She will give it back once this freeze is over.]

[She is getting a job at the cosplay cafe, so she expects to start earning her own money to add to whatever the drone husband is willing to give her.]

Thank you. I'll see about finding something to support our family as well. I'm living with two pirates so I doubt any of my income later will be legal.

[She says with a complete lineface.]

It seems nothing in this town can be counted as completely legal or illegal.

[For a mage like her, anything that does not compromise the existence of magecraft is technically "legal."]

I have. Candles, flammables, blankets, all sorts of things.

[She steps up to the counter to pay.]

We are downtown right now. There is a bakery close by. If we hurry, we might be able to get some more food from there. There is also a clothing store. The pharmacy is farther away.

Hopefully we won't need the last, but I'll look for some warming pads if they have any.

I'm planning on going over and seeing if they have anything, just in case. Diseases spread easily in colder seasons, especially if groups of people huddle together for warmth.

[And if the pharmacy people refuse to give her the medication, she will just break into the back and take what she needs.]

[Well she wasn't going to be in the dog house if her parents found out.]

So where do you want to head next? The bakery?

Bakery sounds good. We'll need some food to ride this out.

[She nods and holds open the door.]

Then you can follow me there once you finish paying.

[Nodding, she followed her out the door as Ako drew her coat closer around her shoulders. It was getting a little colder.]

[Bazett notices Ako drawing her coat a little tighter. She takes off her outermost coat and hands it to Ako in response.]

I will take you to the clothing store after we are done at the bakery. You can get another coat there. Until then, you can wear this.

[Bazett purposely wore more coats than needed in case the weather turned any colder. As a result, while she is not as warm as she was before, she does not feel cold yet.]

The bakery should be over this way.

[She begins walking toward the bakery.]

[Ako trots behind, quick in her steps to keep warm and to keep moving. She wanted to bring everything back as soon as possible.]

[They manage to reach the bakery with no problems. Like the general store, it is meagerly stocked.]

It looks like they only have the bland types...

[But as long as they filled her up, she is not about to complain.
