1. 7134 Brooks Lane, Action, Late at Night

[Ako had enough. The large bed was too cold and she was shivering almost uncontrollably since the cold had settled in. Bundled up in a housecoat wasn't enough for her, even despite the size. It was time to suck up the dignity and do something she hadn't done since she was at least six.

Marching over towards the master bedroom and hoping to god that Marvelous and Ambrosia hadn't done anything else for heat -- hey she listened to Kanade's girlish fantasies before -- she pushed the door open and hopped up onto their bed, sleeping or not. And without preamble, dug herself into the sheets from the bottom up to worm beside her parents.

Dignity intact. Kind of. Unless they shove her out or something.]

2. Out in town earlier that morning

[Ako's in town, having bundled up incredibly in mittens, and a jacket and everything else. She was looking for some kind of supplies, candles, blankets, anything. But the stores were so incredibly bare of essentials.]

Seriously this is getting ridiculous. I get here and it's like a freezer. Worse than anything Kanon Town had gotten before.

[And this was from a girl who, close to winter, wore her usual outfit of suspender shorts and a long sleeved shirt. Reaching for a blanket that was very very high up, she wished for her boots. At least then, she could have reached it.]

3. Phone

Okay, I have to ask. Is this normal? Really? I don't think shutting down the power when it get this cold is anything but normal.

I can pick the lock.

[She shows Ako one of her drone daughter's hairpins that she carried in her pocket. She had learned how to pick locks after her superior had explained to her why she could not afford to pulverize the doors of his church.]

Funny about that. I know how to do that too. [Her grandfather sometimes forgot the keys to the house so Ako's learned how to do it as well.]

I will pick the locks o the pharmacy. That way, if we are caught, I can take full responsibility.

All right. [Better an adult did it than she did at any rate. Ako wasn't looking forward to finding out if there was juvie here.]

[As they walk down the street, Bazett does her best to try to look unsuspicious. Even though there are not many people headed in that direction, she still wants to be careful.]

[At least with Ako next to her, they kind of look like mother and daughter on a shopping trip.]

[Even so, it looks a little strange, seeing how Bazett would not consider herself a motherly person.]

[She suddenly stops at an intersection.]

...I think this is the wrong way.

[Needless to say, she has managed to get both of them lost.]

I only have a general idea of where the pharamacy should be.

[She knows she has made at least one wrong turn. The problem is that she does not remember which turn.]

It should be next to the hospital...

Unfortunately, no. This town is so small that there are no directional signs except for the street signs.

[It would be much easier if there was a town map.]

Forgive me. I was sure I could find my way to the pharmacy.

[Under normal circumstances, she would have asked someone for directions. However, she obviously cannot do so now.]

Perhaps we should backtrack to the last intersection and take one of the other paths?

I think so. We've been leaving tracks after all.

[The two of them start heading back. It does not take long for them to reach the intersection, which happens to be a four-way. Excluding the path that they had originally taken and the mistaken turn that they had returned from, it still leaves two choices.]

[Heading left lands them...in a block of cookie-cutter houses that eventually lead to another intersection.]

I am unfamiliar with this road. Perhaps you should choose again this time.

Right then. If we move in a box, then we should return to the main road.

[Following Ako's directions gets them back on the main road. Bazett thinks she can get to the pharmacy now.]

I believe that we should have headed this way initially...
